Culture + Science is an interdisciplinary collaboration between a social theorist (Victoria) and a computer scientist (Aaron).

A few years ago, Victoria’s daughter (and Aaron’s stepdaughter) Penelope said something charming.

Penelope: “We should call you (Victoria) Dr. Culture and You (Aaron) Dr. Science.”

We thought it was apt, so here we are.

Our vision for Culture + Science is a collaborative one.

  • It is a business:

As academics who write and edit books, we wanted to create a space for us to manage those sales. Culture+ Science Store

  • It is a creative hub:

As creatives, we wanted to create a space to showcase some of our artistic endeavours (with the invaluable contribution of some local artists - forthcoming!)

Our shop will soon house academic-focused products that will make the grind a bit more fun.

  • It is a space to connect:

We want to hear from other academics. Are you interested in hosting a virtual symposium? Creating an online lecture series? Collaborating on pedagogical resources?

Reach out to us: hello@cultureplusscience.ca

This is just the beginning. Thanks for stopping by.
